What model #41 are you trying to mount?
The 24C1-up, 26C1-up, 27C1-up were meant to be front mounted on U models 6U5843-up and 7U11952-up.

The 9V1-up units were meant for the 7J-up models but were rear mounted. I have seen them adapted to front mount but I don't have any info as to how.

Here is the 7J, 2T, 5T drive for the #44 but I am not sure what needs to be done to drive the #41 units.

Couple of questions:
- Indian - what's the per-axle rating on your trailer? How did you find the stopping power (all electric?)
- OM - what advantages could be gained from having the pump on the rear other than avoiding some piping? Can't think of a good reason to have it rear-mounted, and the disadvantage of not having it live drive would annoy the jingle out of me. I was rapt when as a kid I first discovered live PTOs....my mother had a TEA Fergie and that was the one thing that bugged me about that tractor. (I'm sure there must be a good reason but I can't think of one - limited imagination I suppose)

I can't see where there is/was any advantage. Just a product of the times when hydraulics were mostly for opening and closing a disc. Same goes for the very popular BeGe units of the time.

Interesting that the 9V1-up units were the only Cat hydraulic control to use a gear pump, the rest being vane pumps that have built in sensitivity to cold load starts.
