Hi Guys
I just purchased a complete and running D4. It's serial number is 7U23909 It shows 9427 hours on it's counter.I'm not sure of the year. Former owner says it's a '58.I bought it from what I think is the second owner who installed new "swamp tracks" on it sometime in the '60s. It has a Hyster D4 winch on it, not a D4N, factory canopy, 8' blade and has a clearing blade as well. It hasen't run for 6 months and hasen't worked for 6 years. It needs some TLC. I intend to restore it as much as I can using another older D4. I'm a retired marine engineer and am very excited about my new project. I intend to use the machine to do some firewood logging and land clearing on my own and maybe some neibours property only. No commersial work. I will be visiting this site daily. What a great wealth of information.

ArrowJimmy, 👋Welcome to the site, I'm a retired Quality Assurance inspector and am in the process of restoring a 1953 D2. The folks on this site are a wealth of info and encouragement and more then willing to help.👍 It can be discouraging at times but remember its a hobby, if it gets frustrating step away for a bit.
Have fun

Thanks 67
I know what you mean. As long as it's a labour of love, it's fun.

Thanks Paul. That date makes more sense. I like that. I'm a '53!
