My D4 water pump is leaking really bad. I need a new seal kit or a pump. its a 1952 D47U serial number 7U16108SFG I dont have a parts manual. Also were can I get these parts? Does anyone know what the SFG means on the back of the serial# ? Thanks again Dan

The front seal should be 7b2174 and the rear one 4f4769
I have a parts manual coming but it wont be here till after i go work on the Dozer. Is there a part number for a complete pump or rebuild kit? Thanks Dan

The water pump housing is 4f7963

Ok I called western states cat here in spokane area.They want 400.00 dollars for it.were can i get a pump or a rebuild kit?This shouldnt be this hard.I can rebuild it at work Does this just need those two seals to make it work? The bearings feel tight but until I get it apart I cant really tell. Thanks Dan

Here is the parts break down for the water pump on a 7U16108 s/n.
Check with Cat to see if they have a kit, otherwise it's find individual parts or purchase used. For used I'd try www.tractorparts.com

I just GOOGLED "CATERPILLAR 7B2174 SEAL" and found them at $1.50 TO $14.00 and the 4F4769 listed at $15.00
