Does anyone have a new and worn spec on the overall width of the steering clutch packs for the later model D4 7U's (effective from 7U26503) ? These clutches have 11 3F5504 and 11 2H6936 discs per clutch assembly.

I have a spec on the earlier type which uses 8 friction and 8 steel discs but there are number of differences between these and the later ones so I'm not sure the same spec applies.

Thanks

According to www.steeringclutch.com spec sheet the D4 series is all the same until you get to the 40A.

Thanks for the link, Pete. I had seen their site but not the specs page.

A little more digging shows my tractor uses 3F-5504 Disc (22 off) and 2H-6936 Disc (20 off)

Info out of some early D4D books shows the same P/N's and quantity of discs with the following info on pack thickness:

Total thickness-new plates and discs ... 70,79-78,54 mm 2.787-3.092 in.

Minimum permissible thickness-worn plates and discs ... 66,80 mm 2.63 in

Just thought I should follow up on this in case its of any use to someone else.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
