[size=100]I just acquired a D4 7U that was parked in a machine shed in the 80's when the right steering clutch would not work. After cleaning the old gas that turned to jelly in the past 35 years, it fired right up. All the gauges work even.
The right hand steering level pulls all the way back with some effort, but not much. I took this picture, (sorry about the quality, the video I took did not turn out). When I move the levers the joints with the red arrow move just fine. When I move the left level the trunnion that the green arrow points to moves. But when I move the right lever the trunnion that the purple arrow point to do not move at all.
I am thinking the pin that moves the trunnion may be broken and this means pulling the cab and transmission cover.... See attached photos...

do you have a boroscope inspection camera. if not get one it might just save you some work by giving a look in there at what is really happening with out having to dismantle it to get a proper look.
"i reject your reality and substitute my own" - adam savage. i suspect my final words maybe "well shit, that didnt work"
instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality
