So got my engine turning, but the pony crank is loose. Has about 1/4 inch of vertical movement on the pulley. Does run!!

Price to fix? Replacement options? Electric start conversion? Top mount or direct start?

Need some other pieces track chains, tensioner parts for both tracks, worn idler frame!

Ideas?

Parts dozer or a couple of them would be my suggestion!

How does the pony run? Main engine? Steering clutches work?

Fully addressing all the areas you mentioned with new parts, even aftermarket/CAT Classic line would steer me toward searching parts machines!
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

The rest of it seems to be in not too bad condition.
All the clutches are free and over center, brakes are in adjustment.
One outer cover is tacked on and the other is just bolted.
It has been used fairly hard there is welds on just about every part of the blade frames, LOL
For what I was going to use it for, could probably get it started and use it but was wondering what was some of the costing to fix some of it!
The sprockets, and the idlers are decent, the rollers could probably use a few bushings.
The track chain has a lot of wear in the bushings and rollers, rails are ok, but figured might be cheaper to replace the chain than remove all the pins and replace everything individual!

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
