I am looking for correct part numbers for the large gasket for the top of the tranny and drive clutch area. This is for the large casting I removed to do the brake linings. The copy of the page my dealer was looking at is very vague and I want to double check. My serial number is 269XX there about. I also need the number for the gaskets for the shifter below the boot and above the boot.

Thanks in advance, Skip in CT.

Hi Skip,
My book shows (2) 3B5381 gaskets for the shifter housing. I'm sure Cat has upgraded the number since, but they should be able to use the old number as a reference point. As far as the large casting you removed, are you talking about the cover assembly to the transmission case? If so the numbers in my book are (2) 3B889 gaskets for the front cover assembly, can't seem to find a gasket(s) for the rear cover assembly. I'm sure Old Magnet will chime in and can help you further. 👋

The 3B0889 (2-req'd) is the two part cork seal for the transmission cover (pricey from Cat)

The front cover only uses the 9F0125 seal accross the back. Last time I got one, several years ago it was the last one in the system. Don't know if any new or reproduction is available.

The 3B5381 (2-req'd) is replaced by a 3C8799

Thanks Joe and OM, those are the numbers they quoted so I feel a lot better ordering them now. Interesting that the brake linings 8Y-6307 are only one piece and the gaskets are 2 per.
