I have a tag on the side of the engine that reads "tractor number 2970"

When I called my local partsman for a new fanbelt he tells me that number don't jive with his books.

Is there another number somewhere I should be looking for?
Thanks

Thanks Gemdozer, left side by the pony is where I found the tractor number. I will have a look by the steering clutch housing to see what matches.

It'll be 2 weeks before I get a chance to go look though 😞

You might try giving him "07U2970" since all the newer machines have 2 digits before the letter, he may need the zero to fill the space.

Some of the young guys won't go get on the microfiche machine to look up parts for the old machines.

Would that 4F7956 be the number for the fanbelt?

My D4 is 07U2777, That's not that far apart. Haven't got around to doing anything with the D4 yet, possibly this summer needs a little TLC & have to mount a blade ( 6 way ) have to find a few parts first & a winch. Well good luck & thought that I would say hello & happy yellow dreams.
