I think they are a hair over 1-3/4 inches or maybe 1-7/8 inches. There are several variations but I think that is about what the standards were.
Chains are about 3-5/8 inches when new.

Perfect, thank you Jim. My grousers are worn down too 3/4” and I found some weld on bars that are 1” tall.
