Hello everyone,

I am replacing the OEM leather seal that surrounds the drive shaft for the fuel pump(s) cam. With the new seal being a modern lip type seal, am I orienting it to keep the oil out of the fuel tower, or keep the diesel out of the pump assembly? I am guessing the latter of the two. Sounds like a peanut butter cup commercial…..lol

Thanks much,

Breadler

Can you fit two thin seals in to seal each way.

Only room for 1 replacement. The original was a wide leather seal, so there was no indication of direction. The replacement has the same width, but is of model lip style.

The seal keeps the diesel fuel out of the pump / oil. The diesel fuel is under pressure from the transfer pump. Your guess is correct.
