Probably only Goughs records would be useful as I don't think Cat kept a track of how many units had options specified - maybe they did. At 44k, does your D4 have in-seat starting controls or is an electric start?
JB Weld or run some Bars leaks in it to slow the leak down. Once it stops, definitely put antifreeze in it or drain it in April/May
really wanting to Know how many were built and were they special order or not

I have used JBWeld quite successfully for this application. Vee'ed out well. Two coats, a week apart, hot weather. No leaks, ten years or more.
Some HT4 s have single speed and some have two speed reverse, Don't know when the two speed became available.
