Bit different with 22 inch grousers. Anyone know how common they are. Don't think there will be many in Oz. this is one of two owned by South Australian Gov for works in Mt Gambier area back in the day.

Hi, Wimmera Farmer.
There's a few things that are a bit ovva trick with this new site. One ovv'em is that you sometimes have to complete wunna them dopey 'captcha' things by tickin; a box to prove that yer human. In spite of some people's views, I've never had any doubt since I was old enough to understand it that I was and am human. How about you?
Funny thing about it is that yer hafta said box if it appears BEFORE you start typing yer message or the box disappears and yer hafta start all over agin when you think yer about ter submit yer post.
Just my 0.02. Hope it helps.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

I’ve found editing the post, deleting the photos and re uploading works for ones that don’t appear first time. You can see if they’re going to post correctly as they appear instead of the blue question marks.. Not ideal, rest assured it’s being worked on!
Hi, wimmera farmer.
Thanks for the photos. Looks a reasonably straight machine, especially given the age, nice belly guard and radiator guard. Does the term. "bass ackwards", mean anything to you??
Were those track shoes like that ex-factory or did somebody use a LOTTTTA gas to create that much space between the plates? Does leave plenty of space to get chains through though.
The first D4 that I operated was a 1945 vintage 2T but I don't think it ever made it into military service 'coz I don't remember it having any military ID plates on it.
Will that one be at Wheatland?

Hi Deas
No evidence of plates bieng cut. Hope to get it to Warracknabeal. Needs quite a bit of love and no time to do much. A good wash and try to fix the carrier roller will be first priority. Bonnet is probably beyond saving pilot motor needs better flywheel and who knows what else brakes don't do much, footplates missing, seat cushions non existant the list goes on.
Part of the fun WF
I think swamp plates were made thinner. Makes it look like pins and bushings have excessive internal wear.
Hi, wimmera farmer.
You didn't say whether the term, "bass ackwards", had any meaning for you when I asked after you had managed to post the photos.
