The scenery is De Borgia Monatana looking south. I 90 Is in the back ground tho you cant see it.I will look for the numbers this weekend when i go back over to get it moved. Thanks for all your input.I work on way different equipment underground. Our Elphinstone 3 yard Caterpillars most all electric hydraulic functions. This is stone age but easier to work on than equipment at work. Thanks Dan

Elpinstone machinery is or at least was made in Tasmania where I live, by Dale Elphinstone who sold out to Cat for several millions but cleverly kept the freehold on the factory etc. I believe Cat has now built a new factory in Asia and so the Tas factory will close due to the high cost of rent and labour. Dale has also wrangled a means by which he can make 'above ground' mining equipment here as opposed to 'below ground' mining equipment that the agreement with Cat prohibits.

Dale is one clever man to take on Cat. He is probably the richest man in Tas and has a collection of older Cats second to none including an immaculate D2 bought for a high price. I heard he and another wealthy Tasmanian wanted it at auction and naturally Dale won.

A bit of Tasmanian trivia👋

That is one cool bit of History/Trivia. One thing I know is that we have three of the Elphinestone 3 yard under ground loaders and it is ten times the loader our Wagners are.and pretty easy to work on . I will take pictures soon of these great machines. It will be a few days because im rebuilding De watering pumps right now and on a different level than the Cat loaders.thanks for the info and the reply.Love to hear history.Dan

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
