My manual does not show any lube points for the blade pins. I have also been told from Cat that they are not grease able and have to be changed when worn out.
Thanks dp,
I don't have a manual for my D3B. I was hoping to find a pdf or jpg that shows all the grease points and lube schedule. I don't even know how to lube the idler yoke?
I only use the D3B a few times a year to plow my dirt road when the snow gets to be over 3' . I should know more about the D3B and take better care of it.
thanks
there are actually no grease points except for the universal joints
the idlers and rollers take sae 30w oil--rollers have a plug on the out board side and the idlers have a plug on the side of the idler near the shaft. turn them until you can see the plug in a 12 oclock position. the plug may be on the outboard side on one idler and the inboard side on the other idler.
BTW--I am not familiar with the 2PC model D3B--I know of the 23Y 1r-3F and my 27Y 3R-3f models but not that one.
My D3B is a LGP model with the 10' blade. Great for plowing snow and pushing brush but that's about it . A few times a year we will get a 3' or 4' snowfall overnight and my dirt road is over a mile long. The d3b is the only way i can open up my road in those conditions.
Can you fill the rollers without the CAT tool?
Thanks for the help!
I have been filling my rollers for about 5 years with a squeeze bottle and small plastic tube--not that they needed very much oil though
Do you need to remove the rollers? and what about the top roller?
Sorry for all the questions.......
Thanks again.
all the rollers have a plug on the outboard side at the center of the shaft and all are accessible without removing the roller
Thank you very much for the info dp!
Are you? Frazier Park, Tehachapi, or Kern River area? I'm in California City. Retrieved a D45T from above Walker Basin last year with the help of Garlic Pete and his 'retrieval tools' (Peterbuilt/Trailmobile and D69U combination).
