Hello,
Been a few years since my last post.

I checked the fluids today in the D3B-2PC246 and found the bevel oil high and milky! I only put about 10 hours a year on it, so it sits out in the weather for long periods of time. I tried to find the owners manual in .pdf format with no luck....they sell for an incredible 500 to 600 bucks! My question is where is the drain plug?

Thank you !

My D4 5T dozer has been sitting for 5 years, planning on getting it up and running this winter, God willing.

My D2 has been sitting for over 6 years, arg.... maybe this spring i will work on it!

I need to update my profile but here are the tractors i have here at the ranch.

there are 3 drain plugs under the bevel gear case close to the rear of the machine.

I had the exact same problem with my D3B. There are three drains under the rear. They are protected by rings welded to the belly. There are two more that protect the brake take-up adjuster bolt and jam nut. Wouldn't hurt to check this while you're on your back down there. The center drain is the bevel case. The two outboard drains are for the steering clutches. Mine has dry clutches so there shouldn't be oil in there. (There wasn't) It'll take a pretty big jug to catch your oil with the extra water. Can't remember that mine was any more than 5 gallons tho. It has stayed clear since now that I store it under roof. Never did figure out where the water was getting in.

bevel gear case calls for 4 gallons of sae 30 oil.

If you have wet steering clutches there are no lower brake band adjusting bolts.

The upper bevel case cover gasket has been known to leak water in. Keep Inside as Jon does or a tarp over the case will keep water out.

Thank you both!

Anyone have a .jpg or .pdf of the lube points and maintenance schedule from the Cat D3B service manual? I am just dumbfounded that i can't find a service manual for cheap?

Also i need to do a full lube and grease. The only time this D3 had a lube was when it was in the shop a few years back. I think the rollers need to filled with oil not grease ????

Thanks again!!!
