A friend of mine is looking for a source for rod and main bearings for his D7E 48A. What are his options?

OUCH doesn't look cheap. http://www.agkits.com/search.aspx?find=D339

I got my main bearings for my D4400 from Off Road Equipment. They were Genuine Caterpillar NOS and good prices too. http://offroadeq.com/home.html

Try your Cat Dealer! They offer a line of Cat Classic Parts made at the right price point for older machines and they are better than any "will fit" parts. By the way, I would be careful if someone says they are Caterpillar's old stock. If it doesn't come in a Caterpillar box and doesn't have Cat stamped on the back of the earing, it isn't Cat! Period.
