[quote="Old Magnet"]Did you have the part number when you inquired about the pump at off road eq.?
I don't know anything about this outfit but they claim to have a 8S7895 kit for that pump.

Yes we gave the them the number for the pump, but we did not ask for a kit.
Hi Team,
having trouble understanding the style of pump being discussed.
I may have missed where this unit mounts to the timing case. Early "C's" had a pump that mounted on top of the case on the left side, later units had the pump mounted to the front left of the case.
Can only think anything special about the pump in question is it is for a low RPM application and therefore higher output.
It has been too long ago now to be sure if low RPM application pumps were ever available.
Depending on your application--RPM wise-- a more standard pump may suffice especially one from a 6 cylinder engine application.
If this is one for top mounting then I would look at a standard pump from a 6 cyl engine. I would have thought the NPR would have reflected that a low production usage pump would be replaced by a more common unit that was a redesigned unit as the engine was developed over the years.
Such a pump could be P/No 5S6684, as fitted to our Aussie built 17K1077-up No 12E Grader engines, may fit unless the plumbing is radically different somehow that I doubt. Even if it were it may be better to update to a more common setup that has common parts available.
I may be wrong as to the designation but the 17K 1077-up engine has the tin Chevy style rocker cover so would be a 4 3/4" bore engine.
Just some ramblings from a forgetful old mechanic who stands to be corrected, if so take this with a grain of salt.
Cheers,
Eddie B.
