Serial # 4B1888 Industrial

The water pump number I gave you yesterday is the incorrect pump. The pump I have, has a water inlet that goes straight to the cooler and one that goes to the thermostat housing. The one just purchased is made different. Do you happen to know what the seal number for the pump should be? Thanks

You better get me a picture of what water pump you are referring to. Is the pump for engine cooling, auxiliary pump or raw water pump? I have the parts book for the 2Bxxxx normally aspirated engine where the 4Bxxxx is turbo. Same parts otherwise.
Here is the parts diagram for the standard engine cooling pump. Auxiliary drive pump also uses the same seal.

That looks like a marine keel cooling pump to me OM, check the engine arrangement that it fits with.

What arrangement number? 2Bxxxx is non turbo Industrial, 4Bxxxx is turbo Industrial, 5Bxxxx is marine.
Could be auxiliary drive water pump which is very similar.

It is for engine cooling. It has a bolt on elbow that goes to the oil cooler and then has a smaller separate line that goes to the thermostat housing. The picture you sent might be right, but I need to see a picture of the top. Both lines go into separate parts of the pump.

I don't have a picture of the top but the connection would be a two bolt elbow to a hose connection to the oil cooler line and there is a small diameter tube going from the elbow to the thermostat housing.

Found a picture....

Old Magnet, I went to the mill to get pictures, but the picture you sent is correct. So I think the seal # in the picture should be correct; However I would still like to find a complete new pump. Any ideas on numbers to try?

I looked around the internet for a 7L0144 pump and could not find a source. Might try Cat for pump or parts to rebuild. I think aftermarket listings that show the D330C and 3304 as being interchangeable are misleading. Something to do with the lost transformation between the two engines. They sure don't interchange in the parts break downs. You may be limited to used or rebuilt units.

Old Magnet,
Called the CAT dealer and they said there was not a rebuild kit in the United States at this time. I would be happy with a used or reman. unit. My reasoning for another pump is that I could get this one built up for a spare. This power unit is on my sawmill, run by the Amish ,cutting crossties, and they don't like down time. Thanks for the help.
