Rack setting bible has the 9S5001-up as Industrial, Marine and Gen set Engines
Specs vary according to full load engine rpm.One example is 54 hp continuous at 1800 rpm.
Close as I can get is 1953-1958 for late s/n engines.
Unit was replaced by 48Bxxxx in 1959

Thanks OM .
This was out of most likely a 15B Bucyrus Erie.
Were going to do a transplant into our D47U I posted back a couple months ago the we dragged in. Engine took in a good bit of water sitting uncovered out in the woods. I figure it'll be much easier just swapping out parts from the original onto the power unit instead of finding a better head and put in liners. A couple jugs were really pitted bad beyond just running the ball hone in to clean up.

That will be a balancer engine with later heads that can accomodate glow plug chambers and direct electric start. It will not have the front and rear scavenge plumbing for the oil pump.

Well I'd say that should work with little medications here and there. Please keep us informed

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
