I have a D2, 5J with a Hyster winch, model K R and need to replace the missing tie rod spacer if someone has the OAL I will be able to make one. Hyster part 3 32182. Thanks Joe Van.
Hi Joe,
given the stud thru the winch case ears is 1" dia. ( I got from from an on-line parts book pdf. https://dozerwinchparts.com/content/WEBDAV%20MANUALS/Hyster%20Legancy%20Parts/Parts%20Hyster%20D2N.pdf) then a piece of 1" clearance internal dia. pipe cut to length to suit your winch case ear spacing should suffice.
Cheers,
Eddie B.
Thanks, but I need the actual over all length of the spacer pipe itself. All the D2N's should be the same. I want to cut one at my shop and take it up 54 miles to my place in the woods where I have it. I have the 1" tie rod and nuts, I never saw a spacer on this winch and want to install one. I also have an OEM copy of the parts book, but it does not give a length.
Not to hijack your thread but I have a D2 Hyster winch (not a D2N) and I'm wondering if this uses the same spacers. If it does, and you find out the length, would you mind posting the info here - thanks in advance!
Hi Team,
now I understand your request. From experience the ears are often bent or mangled in some way or another.
It would seem then that your options are limited if you get no response from the site members to purchasing a 3ft length of heavy wall tube and cutting to suit on site. For the stud maybe a length of " 1 inch dia. all thread" to cut on site also.
Cheers,
Eddie B.
Thanks all for the input, as soon as Mud Month is in decline, and I can reach my D2 at my place up North I'll take a measurement to bring back to the shop and get a section of schedule 40 pipe, I have the tie rod with 1" threads on each end all set there. I'll post my findings when done!
I have a 5j with a d2n and can probably get the measurements you need but I'm not sure of which part you're referring to. If you can post a picture from the parts manual or explain exactly what you need i can get the information hopefully.

Item 29 --- the pipe spacer and stud between the two winch cases to stop them spreading apart--situated above the cable and drum as in the screenshot above which I took from the Winch manual I posted a link to earlier in the thread using the part numbers "vansgarage" gave--- albeit further down in the Parts section of said link.
Best Regards,
Eddie B.
OK thanks for the clarification
I can get those measurements
