It will sometimes be in the white but should be in the green. There is a spring and plunger in the housing where the fuel line couples on to, others correct me if i'm thinking of the 5U's. it sometimes gets dirt under the seat and will drop the pressure. There is also a grease fitting on the main flywheel to lube the clutch shaft pilot bearing also.
Thanks for the info!
This is my pressure when running at full throttle. it comes up in to the green ( on this gauge).

Any ideas on the hard start??![]()
Been there, done that. check the line from the tank 100%, i had a ton of crap in the tower like u..... it comes from the tank and with a low spot in the line it'll almost plug shut. with a crappy tank ur just wearing gears worse and filling the tower again. get a filter till u can go though the tank.
Hard starting could be an indication of low compression on your main engine.
Could also be as simple as letting your pony run a bit longer to warm the main engine up a bit more.
I read somewhere on here a long time ago about a “2-smoke start” on colder days....start and engage the pony and by the time you smoke 2 cigarettes the main is ready to fire. I tried this once back in my smoking days it works real good....
My D2's gauge barely registers in the white even when running at high idle but it starts pretty easily. I will have to get it dyno'd to see if it's producing its published hp. I don't know how accurate the gauge is
