Today I came across a set of new chains for a D2. They have been siting for a few years but are new. They have a extra links on them because they were going to use them to biuld a tracked screener. I wondered if you can still buy new ones. The guy might have more also if anyone is interested.

Thanks Mat

Well if you can checkl on potential others and send me a PM I'd appreciate it. I don't think NOS is too avail anymore. Best alternative is to use D3 parts.

Hi Bill, How did you happen to find out that the Chicoms were making D2 rails?Wonder how hard the steel is that they are using to make them with. I would venture to guess that the rails will last at best, half the life of genuine Cat or Berco rails which are no longer available.

I too need a set for my D2. My rails are basically 100% worn. Chinese rails won't do it I don't think.

Watch the bolt pattern for the pads. If they are selling off D3 rail as D2, wich i imagine that is the case?, The bolt pattern and size of bolt are different and the D2 pad will not fit. Don

I had our track shop cross part numbers for me and he said that they are for a D2. As long as they will fit I dont think I could go wrong with them for $600 for the pair. Also how much is a good used complete uc for a narrow track worth? I came across a junked out one with about 90% uc on it and Im going to try to get it.

I did alot of internet searches for D2 parts and found many chinese manufacturers proclaiming they make the parts now. Didn't make me very comfortable, so although I need some, I have never ordered. I probably shouldn't worry as 90% of wally mart and Target stuff come from there and many former US manufacturers are now producing parts over "there"

I guess I'm a dying breed but I still like to see a red/white/blue flag sticker on whatever I buy. It's getting tougher every day.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
