In a search for this obsolete bearing 4B5353 I found a Hyatt part # 93420 on one of Squatchs' videos Thanks, Toby! This bearing is current production from Consolidated Brearings in N.J.  Go to webpage search by zip code for your local supplier.  Or call them 973.539.8300.
Approxamate price is $16.00. You have to buy from your local dealer. The other bearing I found in this size is Rollway 140220.

Good luck!  Herb  Screenshot_2021-02-09 93420

OK, thanks Eddie, I didn't have that particular set of files. Just happy to find a supplier. Still would like to find a cross for a 4B3712.

Thanks for sharing that info Herb, good to know the bearings are out there at very reasonable prices, if you are not a regular user of this BB it is easy for handy info like Eddies and yours to quickly disappear from the front page of the forum and end up on page 5 or 15, never to be seen again..
Regards
Mike

I have found when removing that pivot shaft from D2 and many other Cats with similar arrangements that the shaft is rough and pitted from the bearings wearing on a very small surface as it only rotates a few degrees, I have replaced some with oil impregnated brass bushings. That may be part of living in the rust belt.

Oh yes absolutely. I can machine new shafts and make bushings to suit. Bronze would work very well also for the amount of intermittent use these tractors see in a year.

Thanks for the replies. Herb

Is the consensus that bronze bushings would be superior to roller bushings for longevity?

I think oil impregnated bronze such as Oilite would be the answer. Would last a lifetime for a hobby machine I'm sure,

Tony
