Hi All,

I have my D2 5U17494 located in Australia and looks like I need a new shaft for the Starter Pinion which engages the Diesel as it wont hold in. And I have adjusted the catches/dogs many times. So pulled the whole dang thing out after lifting the Pony. Ugh !

Some one has welded the end and it no longer has the nut or bearing on the end. Just the collar etc for the dogs to release from, welded to a solid round face.

My Cat dealer says the part No. is 6H9983 but is no longer available.
Does anyone out there have a good used one I could buy ?
I guess I will need a collar too No. 3H7946.

Any help or leads will be greatly appreciated.

Keep digging.
Regards,
OzCat. Perth, Australia

Hi Anthropod and GemDozer,
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I can get what I need through you chaps.
Gemdozer, how much do you want for a good shaft and collar combo ?
Likewise, Anthropod..if you have any that suit my machine 5U17494, let me know and how much. Not trying to get a bidding war going 😊. Just need a rough price and maybe a pic would be good but I guess you guys know what condition they need to be for the parts to servicable.
I appreciate your help. Hard to get D2 parts downunder.
Regards,
Chris/Ozcat
