5T is not a valid model number--if it is a 5J5090 it would be a 1941 year
5T would be a D4. 1946
More likely to be the D4 5T as the D2 had 5J (wide gauge) and 3J (narrow gauge) serial numbers whereas the D4s of the era had one set of serial numbers with wide gauge models having a suffix W as in your number, 5T5090W.
An easy way to tell the D2 from the D4 is to look at the track frames. On the D4 they are pivoted from the rear sprocket hub whereas on the D2 they are pivoted on a cross shaft in front of the rear sprockets.
Enjoy your new adventure !!
Here are some pictures. Is this a D2 or a D4??![]()
You have an HT4, which is a loader based on the D4 tractor
Thank you very much! I will be posting here periodically as work is being done to wake this machine up from a long sleep. I'm sure we will have a gazillion questions as we dig into this project.
Alan
Not an HT4, but the forerunner, a cable operated Trackson shovel mounted on a 5T series D4 tractor.
Is there a way to find what year this machine was made from the serial number? Maybe a better question would be is there a chart that breaks down the serial number?
Thank you in advance!
