i am working on getting my d2 not to mark it territory and after some thought i taken off the oil cooler and lines. i made up some brass plugs to fit in the holes on my lathe. but not sure what parts i have to take out of the filter base to get the flow right?. with the big hex nut off on the bottom i can see right thought it but i can all so see what looks to be a check vale ball is that what i need to remove ? the way it looks it will have to come out of the top how dose one go about doing that?

Just remove the oil cooler bypass valve and spring.
