Can any one tell me about the rear ripper set up that was manufactured for the No2 toolbars.
I would like to know how many variations there were and sizes, and numbers of rippers that could be attached.
A brochure photo or any photo would be great if possible.

thanks
Geoff

Yes, that is pretty much the information I was looking for.
There must have been a few of those No2 toolbar sets introduced to Australia in the early days. I would be very interested to find a beam with the the attachments still on it for my old D2. I have seen a lot of the No2 toolbar (#41hydralic pump) tractors with the blade, but have yet to spot the subsoilers and beam. I think it would be most unusual to be able to show one with the subsoiler rather than just the blade attachment.

Cheers.

best of luck finding one. The tool bar and a couple of fittings minus the rippers etc came up for sale in Tas recently - it was in poor shape but still sold for 350 dollars or so, very quickly.

That's the only one I've seen for sale in Tas for years.

Hi Palmer,
just found this in a couple of old Caterpillar Products booklet, from close to home.
Hope this helps.

Thanks edb,
I certainly wasn't aware of the extent of options for those toolbars. I will be keeping my eyes open in the future for any of those attachments that may turn up at sales.
Now, all this is leading me to another question regarding the hydraulic hoses and connections. I am in the process of replacing hoses and fittings due to the mash of parts installed by others.
The question is. Is there a particular way to hose up the hydraulic rams with connectors that will enable me to remove the toolbar blade at times and operate as a crawler. Do I need to be able to join the hoses on the tractor in any particular way once the rams have been removed to complete the hydraulic circuit? Should the hoses be removed with and stay attached to the cylinders once they are taken off the tractor?
I hope that makes sense to somebody.
Any advice would be great.

Here is how I did mine. I replicated the originals very closely but replaced the original couplers with pioneer by Parker.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
