File/clean the points. Oxidation of the contacts is a common problem.

Do a resistance check on the coil secondary. Should be about 6200 ohms.

Check between the coil lead wire and the brass contact for the for the distributor plate. If you get a "0" reading the coil wire is open.

If your meter can check capacitance the reading between the condenser lead and its case should be about 0.24 micro farad.

If the above suggestions don't help, remove the wire from the kill switch to the mag (at the mag) and check for spark.

I have a mag that was giving me issues as well after looking at everything I could, I wound up taking a heat gun and blowing inside the mag, after about 10 minutes of doing that, I gave it a try and boom, I had spark. Im guessing I had a small amount of moisture somewhere that I wasn't seeing. May or may not work but worth a shot.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
