Hey guys,

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a D2 with lights? I have a four post switch in mine (7f2921) and I'm not sure what the operation of the switch should be. Is it off, low, high and reverse?

Thanks,

Jamie

jdkoller,

Here you go, there's no mention of what the switch is.

Going from memory I thought the four position switch was dash lights, front lights, rear lights and both front and rear......could be wrong though.

But now I'm even more puzzled. Why does it have dual filamet lights? Neither the diagram, nor what OM says supports high/low beam theory. Hmm

Hey OM, that looks like a three position switch. Off, front with dash, front and rear? Just guessing.

OK, had to look it up. 7F2921 is a three position switch. One of those contacts is common.

I believe only one element is connected on the bulbs (don't think it's both) I'd have to dig furthur on that too but I know it's been discussed.

Only one wire goes to the light so looks like you have a choice of running high or low beam, depending on which terminal you hook the wire to......thoughts?

I guess it just depends on how I want it to work, but I was hoping I could find out how it was wired from the factory. Unfortunately all of the wires were gone when I bought it.

Also, I am not near this machine a the moment, but I'm pretty sure it had four posts and four positions.

the wiring of the D2/4/6 6v Guide sealed beam 1940's onwards lights is interesting. It appears that there are two options - one connection produces a dim light whereas the other terminal appears to light either a higher wattage filament or powers both filaments - not sure which but its definitely not a high low beam set up, it simply get a lot brighter switching from one to another.

The ones I am cleaning up are wired for the brighter option.

Thanks Harry for the lights - they look like new😊

Jamie,
I have several pictures of the lighting on my 1956 D2. Hope these help.
