I have located quite a few grouser pads that appear to be the same as what I have on my D2, except they are 20" wide instead of 16". From what I understand, they come off Hardy rice harvesters that were used up in the Sacramento area. Because they were used in the mud, they have very little wear and are in good shape. I would have to cut 2" off each side which is not a problem. Does anyone else know if there is any problems with using these?

I would try to swap them for a set of 16" , surely there is someone with a wide D2 , 16" pads & not wanting to run a blade that would love the 20" pads.

It would be a shame to cut down good 20" pads. You could sell them to the right person and make more than it would cost to get some 16" ones.

Hi Willie,

Today I took one of my grouser pads and they match up perfectly except for the 20". The hole layouts are exactly the same and the profile is the same. Is there a demand for 20" pads for dozers? I might be willing to trade someone for 16" pads that are in good shape. I need 66 total. I did not even check to see if they would work on mine, but I really don't need 20" pads and would rather keep mine pretty much stock, I have a late model serial number 17,500 and it's an orchard model.

I have some nice 16'' pads on one of late D2s I will swap with you. I will be moving several pieces of equipment to Oakland within the next few weeks, so we could save on the freight. Thanks John 714-984-3616.

It would be a shame to cut up wide pads as there are far more 16s then 20s . Id look around and do some trading and did you get and rollers or idlers from it? Rollers are getting had to find also. I'm second in line here but I have a tailseat J with 16s Id trade

I would be willing to talk to you about that d4e. How tall are the grousers on yours. These grousers are about 1 3/4" high. I will keep you posted willy as to what happens. Thanks all for the interest.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
