After looking at the layout dimension sketch for d2 bell housing hole I am still confused as to what I am supposed to use as reference that will insure 3 5/8 hole is where it is supposed to be. Are the 1/2 inch
mounting hole centers my primary reference points? Do I simply make sure I use the center of these mounting hole boss areas or am I missing something on your sketch? I am using option 3 for mounting.
Also, where can I get a 42MT starter and SAE # 3 145 degree #51-1112 DEH?

Your help here would be much appeciated. I can't say these would be my last questions on this subject..
Thanks MABC

After discussing this with my machinist we thought maybe we use the top 3/8 inch threaded hole
on side of bell housing and 3.527 measurement from side of bell housing to place DEH hole in correct spot.
Is this correct?

Again thanks for your assistance..

That is correct. Do not just center on the existing boss.
ebay is usual source for starters or local starter repair shop.
Try Romaine Electric out of Seattle, Washington for the DEH or your local starter shop. If your boring the starter hole in place on the tractor use the 3-3/4" diameter hole to allow some wiggle room.
