The cylinder head doesn't unfortunately and that sounds like the part you most need. The pony motor does, and there may be parts like the generator, thermostat, etc. that might interchange.
Hi Mitch Mc.
Nuts and bolts interchange as do the pilot motor, starting clutch but unfortunately nothing else.
What part of the country are you in?

instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality
place a wanted ad on this forum maybe someone can help you.
have you tried tillys they might have one. also try pual moore both are at toowoomba
depends how bad and where its cracked they can be repaired by a method called locknstitch. they can also be welded or brazed as these are cast iron and steel any good engine reco shop should be able to do it for you. make some phone calls. remember your not going and earning money with it, its a restoration.
just becuase it is cracked doesnt mean its unusable. cast iron and steel isnt like aluminium.
do you have photos of the head where its damaged.

Hi Busso20 that Caterpillar motor is sold because I went up and bought it today but it's not a D4 D4400 it's a D2 3j D3400 no tag block date 1946.
I am thinking about selling my spare 4g rd4 head but I've got too check the condition of the rest of the motor out first whether I keep it for going motor or a part motor.
Cheers Wayne 👍
