I’ve thought about this problem so now I’m giving my thoughts for what they are worth. I feel like the pinion isn’t engaging. Therefore picking up the clutch brake lever isn’t effective. That’s my take

Well, finally got home from work for the last month, and the weather is favorable. I removed the pony motor and the governor, and got this starting clutch out. Turns out the small bearing on the brake side is completely destroyed and one of the clutch dogs is broken. I'm not sure how that happened, but ball bearings were all over the place inside.

Anyway, to the point. Finning doesn't have the starting motor gasket 2A3463, either of the bearings 1B5388 and 1B4110, the dog 2A4089, or the seal 2A3688.

Can anyone connect me with someone who can provide these 5 parts? Thanks guys.

Griz25, while you have the pinion start clutch out check the push arm on the Transmission end (rear of machine end) is correctly pushing against the center of the pinion drive gear, I pulled my one out and the hardened button was gone and lever was off to one side as well, this is shown in EDB first picture attached

Thanks Busso20, functionally it looks to be in good condition, but I'll have a closer look for sure.

Thank you gemdozer. Update, I was able to clean up both the bearings enough to get numbers off of them, so I can manage those. Just need help with the starter motor gasket 2A3463 and the dog 2A4089.

The seal #2A3688 I believe I should be able to acquire with the information I found from Squatch253. In his video he shows this seal to be replaceable with 20098 - 2" shaft, 3.185" bore, 3.194" seal OD, .469" width.

Cheers.
