Hey guys I've got a D2 5U 14??? with a sticky left foot pedal. This is Glen Ghilotti's. I took the cover off to expose the pedal. I then pushed grease through the zirk fitting to grease up the knuckle where the pedal goes into the housing. With a little work we ( cat gang) were able to get the movement back. The pedal still will not return on its own. Using heat we heated the knuckle with no more luck getting to un-stick. I unbolted the knuckle and spayed grease up inside. 😞 So far no luck getting the pedal to return on its own. Not knowing exactly how this works and not seeing a parts book I am at a loss. Anybody have any ideas ???? Don't really want to tear off the track
and fender to get to the housing, which may be where the source of the problem is.......
Has anyone had this type of issue before?
Thanks,
Tractorboy

Is this a Brake pedal? One of mine gets "sticky/slow" if I don't keep it tarped. Somehow rain gets in there and makes it dirty/rusty. Have you thought about replacing the return spring? Maybe its weak.
I use my favorite spray lubricant to wash it out, then go back into it with the grease gun while moving the pedal to various positions to allow the grease to pick different paths to lubricate the whole shaft. Make sense?

I will try greasing the pedal in various positions Drujinin. I will let you know, I am going up today to try to finish the maintenance on the rest of the tractor.
thanks

Something I've done is to take a fairly new grease gun and put a cup or so of my secret unpatentable loose juice (50/50 acetone or white gas and two stroke oil) in it and pump it into reluctant joints. Work it a bit, pump in a bit more, etc. The acetone will loosen and wash out the old dried grease and dirt, the oil helps with lubrication. When I've gotten it loosened up, time for some Power Punch grease.

I also spray the blades on the D4 and 12E grader with that mixture after use. .flat keeps rust away much better than WD 40 or anything else I've used, including Pam 😆 The only use I have for Pam now is to spray on gaskets just before assembly.

I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
