Is there some way to adjust the tension on the main motor governor? Mine is very light and the throttle keeps slowly closing down. I looked in the manuals and it talked about replacing parts in the governor but I couldn't find anything on adjustments. The way I have gotten around this is to bend the actuator rod slightly where it goes through the firewall so that the friction between the rod and firewall keeps the throttle open but wondered if there is a correct way to fix this.

I don't know anything about the insides of the magic box but I had same thing happening on my d2 and had to replace the spring in the throttle handle. Holds its position good now

I rebush the clevis ends on the linkage and replace the clevis pin with a bolt with correct shank length and shortened thread to where I can put the required pinch on the joints. A lot cheaper and more feasible than replacing the ratchet components in the governor. I also fixed one by rotating the ratchet ring in the governor control to a less worn area which also works after removing dowel pins.

Now that sounds like the "Farmer fix" I was looking for.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
