Your D25U was built in 1949. Yes, it can be converted to either elecric pony start or direct electric start. Details are available on this club site. John

Is the starting engine in running condition an you have to rope start it? If it runs as was mentioned you can put an electric starter on the starting engine and keep it original. The last part of your handle carp reminds me of a joke I heard about carp fish one time. They are a very boney fish and not many people even eat them but this guy said if you do want to cook them then you clean them and put them on a wood shingle and put them in the oven and bake them. When they are are done you take them out of the oven and throw the fish away and eat the shingle. The Susquehanna river near here in Wilkes Barre Pa. has lots of carp fish in it they say but I can,t say as I don,t fish or even go near the filthy river here as it,s so polluted.

hey SJ , well my brother in law thinks the gas tank for the starting motor is full of crud and some got in the carb so I guess the first thing is pull the tank a carb and clean them out. I checked the starting motor and its not locked up so thats one good thing. The last time they had it going was about 4 years ago when they put it in the shed so its been under cover thats another plus. When I was in high school a buddy of mine called me carpfish another one called me carfender , last name is carpenter and I answer to about any thing LOL.

My last name is Hunter and when I was younger I was a big hunter till my shoulder went bad from pulling on big wrenches too many years at the Cat dealer I worked for.I always said I was a Hunter by name and trade and I think my dad came up with that years ago.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
