Hello,

I have a newly aquired d2 5u6625 that has had the generator removed by it prior owner. I want to replace it. I looked in the parts book but was unable to determine the correct generator for it. I have found both bosch and delco built generators for the d2 models, however the book is calling out either a 20 tooth or 14 tooth gear for the shaft. Does anyone know what would be the correct generator / gear for that era cat d2. Neither the dealer nor the parts manual were definative on what my cat should actually have. Any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks
charlie

If you look in the parts book under attachments you will find that under the starting group number it will describe what generator is a match.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
