G'day All,
Does anyone know the part number for the brackets/supports that hold the base of the firewall to the chassis/fenders ?
My dealer cant help as his micro-fish is unreadable and I have no parts book. Called Tillys too with no result.
They may not even be available but I can make them if I know what they look like.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

On my 5U there is no brackets. The firewall edges are formed into an L that the bolts screw into captive nuts welded to the inside of the L. Make sense? I can take a picture if you need.

Ozcat & Kevin - It appears the later tractors had a modified dash mounting arrangement, that involved two angle-iron brackets that run below the dash.
I can see the arrangement that Kevin mentioned in the parts book 4U6373-up .. but the later arrangement must appear in a later parts book.

Ozcat - What is your tractor S/N? Here's the best I can do, from the manual .. instructions related to the oil main clutch removal ..

Hi OzDozer and Kevin.

Thanks for your input. My Ser. No. is 5U-17494 and is a 1956 I believe.
As you suggest OzDozer, there are 2 nuts, welded onto the back (front facing engine) of the firewall and there looks to be 2 holes on the side of the skirt below the fenders that lead one to thinking that there is an angled and/or L shaped bracket that bolts to, and supports the base of the firewall as there is no other means.

Tomorrow I shall visit the dealer and get him to try the part No. you have give and see what comes up ! 😊
Chances are they are no longer avail. but if I could see one, I could make 2, 1 for each side.

Thanks for the photo OzDozer. Much appreciated fellas.
Regards,
Chris.

I've got a later parts book, 5u13,000 ish and I think the second group on the fenders may show an extra bolt in the right floorboard. I assume that would attach to your angleiron.

My book doesn't show an oil clutch as an attachment though.

Hope this helps.

The dash mounting arrangement is basically the same for early and later D2s, no difference if oil clutch or not, the picture that OZ posted is of the 933, it appears that the service information for, and photos of the d2 oil clutch were for the 933, and due to the similarity to the use in the D2 the same information was used for the d2 service information.
Even the Servicemans Reference Book for the D2 that covers the oil clutch, uses the 933 oil clutch service instructions word for word, and refers to parts that are not on a D2, including those dash support brackets.

Thanks to all who contributed to help out. Firewall is in and looking good. Chris.
