Just got new gaskets for a D2 5U I am in the process of fixing up and noticed that the new gaskets are cork. What the h---? What ever happened to the old gasket paper type? I am not fond of cork where there is any noticeable pressure. I have found that they leak. With this material for fuel filter housing gaskets I am sure that people will be tightening them to stop fuel seeping from between the two top plates and the end result will be warped aluminum fuel filter covers. Is this another trick by Cat to cut costs? I wish that some of these morons in the ivory tower in Peoria would get out in the field and check things out instead of sitting on their butts behind a computer and seeing how they can save a nickel! If they want to save some money I suggest that they get rid of that infernal race car. It must be costing them millions! When they start racing bulldozers I might support the cause. but until then I suggest that the company remember who made them what they are today. Cheers, Larry.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
