I have a d2 5u-13476 dozer with 24 volt battery start. Can anyone give me dimensions of the original battery box? Also what would the replacement oil gauge number be ?
Thanks Bob

Bob, if it is an original 24V direct start machine, the batteries were mounted in place of the pony motor and if memory serves, were exposed between the firewall/diesel head compartment held down with cover assembly 6H1493 and base assembly 5H73. There were two other battery boxes listed, the square type and the rounded corner type, but they were for the pony motor starter (6V) and/or lighting group and not intended for a 24V starter.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
