D2 5u #44 pump hydraulic filter

Hello can anyone give me a part # for a Filter for a cat D2 5U #44 pump

I think it depends on your serial number (of the #44 unit not the tractor). Early models used a sock filter similar to the fuel filters where later models used a metal cased pleated paper filter 7F7238 that has been available only from CAT for a long time. Last I remember it being discussed, the paper filter was quite expensive but still available.

I just recently (in the past 12 months) picked up a new 7F7238 filter element from the dealer
