Good Morning folks,
Can someone give me a little advice on a direction to go on my pony float? I had some starting engine issues this fall and after a carb rebuild (factory Zenith kit) and a complete mag rebuild I was back in business with no issues. ( the mag really sorted it out ).It has run great since but lately it seems to be giving me obvious fuel issues and it appears that the float is slightly disintegrating and leaving debris in the bowl and not regulating the fuel into the bowl smoothly. Is this something that happens? Oxygenated fuel? The reason I didn't replace the float when I did the rebuild is that it was replaced a few years back and seemed OK. Are brass floats available? I haven't been able to locate anything other than the black composite type I already have. Any input here would be great. Thanks!

There was a thread on this subject a few months ago and the fuel resistant materiel that was talked about is "Nitrophyl" available from "Restoration Supply 1-800-306-7008". If I remember correctly, you work it like wood and make your own float. There were other suggestions so maybe you can search member (Steve A) and find the whole thread. Hope it helps you.

I put in a black float from Cat over 20 years ago and it is still 100%. Maybe find one that is better quality?

I wonder if that is still an available part from CAT? Anyone happen to have a current part number?

Thanks,
Jordan

I put the float from Cat in about 4 years ago and it's good so far.
