hello gordon ,the D2 5J3103 was built in 1940 ,bruce oz
Hi Bruce hope u's well. Thankyou for that, thats one tick.
Does it have a blade or other attachements? The engine runs, but how was it started? Pulled by another machine or does the pony (donkey) motor work? PTO? Belt Pulley? Winch? Any one of those additionals = more desirable. Do you have a price on it, or are you expected to make an offer?
Hello Bruce, It is an AG crawler with no attachments as are most over here, it has a PTO.
I dont know how they started it but i don't think they tugged it, i will ask, have many been converted to electric start ? i would prefer an original donkey start. They are asking 2 grand (pounds sterling) open to offers. i will try to post some pictures.
It is not impossible to convert a 5J to direct start, but I would assume it is a donkey. 2K pounds is about $3200 USD. That sounds high to me, but there are a lot more D2s in the US than the UK. If it is in great shape with a really good UC, then I'd say you're in the ballpark, but I would offer lower. As they always say, it's worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. Post some pictures. We'd all like to see it. Good luck.
Thankyou, I thought it was high but iv'e seen same condition tractors go for 3 to 4 grand over here. havn't seen many about at all recently. I would of course bid the chap on it. Forgot to ask if you know what it's weight might be, UK pounds or Kilo would be more accurate for me.
Many thanks, Gordon.

Make sure it is complete good tin work, running gear is ok and it steers
the steering clutches are a real pain to sort out as you have to remove the tracks, check for frost damage main engine ( behind the injection pump)
and pony under the cylinders, there are a lot that have had repairs in this area.. Ive have a few d2s ..and my advice would be to pay a little bit more for a nice one, parts are scarce and you can spend a lot of time on them..
Pm me if you like...
