Does anyone know what the acceptable rail height is on a D2 3J, maybe new vs 100% worn? Also how many links were are supossed to be on a new set of chains?

Thanks,

Hi scarter,
my only D2 data tells me that new height is 3" and, 100% worn is 2.75" for 5B3129 Links.
Hope this helps,
Cheers,

small idler uses 30 links
large idler (23 1/2" OD) uses 31 links
5 roller track frame (large idlers only) uses 35 links.

Ok......well my rails are 100% worn at 2.75 inches. My sprokets are good and front idlers need some minor attention which I will address. My rollers are worn, and I am in the process of welding them up back to spec. I found brand new 30 link rails for $1421.82, which I am going to get headed my way very shortly. While I am waiting on the new rails to get here, would it be a good idea to go ahead and put everything back together after idler and roller repair and run it a little bit to smooth things out a little before installing the new rails?

Any input would be helpful.

Thanks,
scarter

I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
