Are all these clutches wet, meaning do they all require oil to function properly, and if not, how do you know which is and which isn't?

thanks

Figured I'd post a picture, not to recent, but not to old either, the old D2 is up and running now, just fine tuning it a little here and there...

If you're having trouble with a "sticky" pinion clutch, drain the oil and refill with diesel and run it a bit then drain and refill with ATF. In colder climates the recommended 30 wt engine oil is a bit thick and the ATF seems to solve this problem.

Mine doesn't have a drop of anything in it, and doesn't look like it has for some time, thats why I was wondering if there were any dry pinion clutches ever used on these tractors. I'll probably add ATF and call it good, or are there other suggestions?

Thanks,

You have to have oil in the pony to diesel clutch because it also supplies the oil to the crankshaft to camshaft gears. If you don't have oil in the clutch hgs the gears run dry and you may need to replace them from excessive wear.
