Was there ever a direct electric start version of this machine. Not electric start pony. Or a flywheel housing that would fit from another machine?

Short answer is, yes there was electric start available, but it’s different, it used a pinion assembly like a gasoline starting motor, but powered by a gear drive electric motor, also available was a similar unit called a stall starter, pictures from parts book later.

Here is one example of the starter assembly, there may be slightly different ones depending on the SN, you can give me the number and I can see if I have that book, if it matters.

Yes, that also in the 2V book. Chances of actually finding these parts I believe would be just are they are , a dream. Thanks to all for helping!

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
