Hi Hookblock

You ask about any problems with "CAT" model "D13000" engines, in my experience with these engines, even in constant heavy load conditions, driving, generators, crushers, boats etc etc. These engines provided that they are properly and regularly serviced, they will give several thousands of hours without any major attention. I would say that the one shown with a rod through the block, had either not been looked after, or possibly over reved at some time. A TRUELY WONDERFUL DEPENDABLE ENGINE !!!
