I have a D13000 serial# 4S12917 it has an oil cooler that was replaced by with something other than a cat cooler (I think). I think it is leaking into the coolant, light film of oil in the radiator, engine oil looks good. My question is can I eliminate the oil cooler? is it safe for the engine? is it possible? And would it be as simple as capping the 2 lines? The engine is in a crane and would not be worked hard.

It's a retired crane, no production work, lots of idling in my yard.:biggrin1:

From some one who has been there done that .
Make up a loop line to by pass the cooler rather than plugging the lines.
