Clevite number for the rod bearings is CB817 (10-20-25-50) undersizes
Clevite number for the main set is MS455AL (10-25-50) undersizes.
Plug those numbers into a parts search on www.machinerytrader.com or internet search.
Thanks OM! Do you happen to know if all of the main bearings are the same width? For some reason I thought that the front and rear ones were wider.
Jeremy
What serial number is the engine? If early, need different bearings than what OM stated, early have shimmed bearings.
All main bearings are different length dependent on position.
Brian,
The engine number is 1H10xx. I have been told that the tractor should have originally had Babbitt bearings, but this one has aluminum inserts.
I was able to google the number for the mains OM gave me, and came up with MS1048AL, MB2585AL, and MB2586AL(F). Here is the link (the D13000 is on page 165). http://www.mahle-aftermarket.com/media/local-media-north-america/pdfs/eb-10-07.pdf

Yes it would have had babbit bearings with shims. I guess it is possible to make aluminum ones work, but if they were not shim type, it would have required modifications to make spacers to replace the shims. Spacers would be needed to prevent crushing of the aluminum bearings. As the babbit design, the shims spaced the two halfs of the bearing and also spaced the bearing cap from block.
Looking at the clevite listing, I believe it is for much later engine. Note the bearing wall thickness is 0.172. Bearing thickness in the older D13000 is much thicker. Also says no 4 is flanged, the old D13000 did not have thrust bearing, thrust is taken up by thrust plate behind timing gear. And listing shows No 1, 2,3,5,6,7 are all same bearing, that is not right either.
Early D13000 should have one front main, four intermediate main, one center main, one rear main, and the rear oil control bearing cap.
I think the number OM gave would be thick wall bearings, which probably clevite does not make anymore.
So your engine has gear drive fan? If so I hope your crank is for that style. Not easy finding gear drive fan cranks.

My Federal Mogul catalog shows early series engines using bronze back main bearing set #725M in 20-30-50 & 75 undersizes, consisting of:
1- #1596B
1- #1597B
4- #1958B
1- #1599B
Set replaces Cat # 7B9164, 2F0501
Very early Bronze-Back, shim type bearings not available.
Another thing is to determine block casting number. Cat made replacement blocks that were precision blocks, did not use shimmed bearings. And the later bearing OM listed fit these.
I will have to look at the forging number on the crankshaft next time I get a chance. I don't know what the block number is, but it has the same brass tag as the rear end, so I assume that it is original.
The crankshaft does have the gear for the fan drive. I have been patiently waiting for 10 years to find a new crankshaft for the ole' girl.
Again, thanks for all the help gentlemen.
Jeremy
Hopefully original engine. One of my replacement blocks, has the brass tag from original engine. That should have helped confuse anyone wanting parts.
