the saga continues: We just came in from moving #1 injector nozzle and replaced it with the #4 injector nozzle. cranked the tractor and we still had a miss, i.e no fuel to nozzle. we bled everything down and tried again. The problem is still with us. Only thing left is the injector pump. We open the bleedoff and it doesn't appear we do not have the same flow as all the others. new ideas anyone.

Give the injector pump a thorough cleaning with solvent, and remove the side cover, and see if one of the lifters isn't getting a full travel stroke. Maybe needs a bit of Chem Tool to loosen it up.

Although it's not quite fuel related, check the valve adjustments and action for the problem cylinder also.

Hey Mark,

I just jumped in on your subject, don't know how far you have gotten, but it sounds like you need to bleed the pumps on the injector pump. After you bleed the tower(two bleeders screws) then go to the injector pump. Behind each line on the top of the pump, down on the back side are bleed screws for each pump, each line. Sounds to me that #1 pump needs to be bleed. They spit out lots and lots of fuel on each one. I have had them get stuff plugged in them, needed to take a piece of wire and clean it out. Bleed each pump, they should all spit the same out. Then get the air out of each line at bottom and top of line to injector. If you don't get fuel out of bleeder screw at pump, then you need to take the cover of the front of the pump and see if the individual pump to #1 is stuck up. Take some loose juice and squirt them good. They aren't that tough to unstick. Hope this helps.-glen

Mark,
If you still suspect the injection pump you can move it around also to see if the problem tracks the pump or not.

Saw your message, thanks for the compliment. The topics seem to be getting covered on this forum.
